Membership

YouGov is committed to high quality research, conducted according to the high professional standards set by the market research industry. From the very beginning to the very end of each research project, we take these standards very seriously. In the UK, two of the main organisations concerned with professional standards are the MRS and the British Polling Council.

MRS Code of Conduct

Many of YouGov's research staff are MRS members and as a company YouGov ensures that its research work is carried out in accordance with the association’s Code of Conduct. MRS - the Market Research Society - is the world's largest association representing providers and users of market, social and opinion research and business intelligence. The Code of Conduct is designed to provide support to everyone involved in the research process, whether they are a client, a respondent or a researcher. To our clients and panel members, this means they can be sure that the research work we carry out is of excellent quality and has been conducted in a professional and ethical manner. More information about MRS and the MRS Code of Conduct can be found on its website. Alternatively, we would be happy to discuss any questions you may have about what this means for you.

British Polling Council

YouGov is a founder member of the British Polling Council (BPC). The BPC is an association of polling organisations that publish polls. The objectives of the Council ensure standards of disclosure designed to provide consumers of survey results that enter the public domain have an adequate basis for judging the reliability and validity of the results. Through full disclosure the Council aims to encourage the highest professional standards in public opinion polling and to advance the understanding, among politicians, the media and general public, of how polls are conducted and how to interpret poll results. The BPC will also provide interested parties with advice on best practice in the conduct and reporting of polls.

For more information please visit the British Polling Council website. Alternatively, we would be happy to discuss any questions you may have about what our membership of the BPC means for you.
