This article cites a research by USC Annenberg Center of Public Relations which found that, in 2020, an increasing number of Americans will consume global news from mobile than traditional sources. 56.1% of Americans said that they will be receiving news and information from mobiles phones in 2020.
As per the study, 34.7% of Americans are very likely to be influenced by customer reviews of brands. Whereas, 23.4% of Americans stated promotional offers or discounts to be the main influencers.
At 2.8% each, journalist recommendations and event sponsorships are least likely to have a purchase influence. For 18.3% of respondents, Buzzfeed is a most trusted digital news source. And 16.2% of those surveyed trust Huffpost.
