Scientists are paying volunteers €16,000 (£13,700) to spend 60 days in bed as part of an experiment that will inform developments in space travel. Volunteers will have to eat, wash and go to the toilet whilst still in bed and must keep at least one shoulder in contact with the bed or its frame at all times. Currently all pupils in the first three years of primary school and pupils from low income families receive free school meals.
