July 2025 brought another wave of change to US streaming, with six brand-new entries making it to the top ten and Netflix holding eight of the spots. Untamed and Sullivan’s Crossing led the month with blockbuster debuts, while returning crime and drama staples showed signs of both resilience and decline.
At #1, Untamed opened strong with 187.9 million views from 30.3 million viewers. With 6 views per viewer, the new Netflix release had massive reach. Sullivan’s Crossing landed at #2 with 175.1 million views from 11.7 million viewers, averaging 15 views per viewer.
Animal Kingdom was the only title to hold its ground from June, staying at #3 with 166.1 million views and one of the highest engagement rates on the chart at 27 views per viewer. Blindspot, meanwhile, slipped two places to #4 with 160.6 million views but still posted an impressive 20 views per viewer.
Prime Video scored its biggest hit in months with Ballard at #5. The drama pulled in 141.6 million views from a wide audience of 26.3 million, though its 5 views per viewer ratio suggested lighter, single-pass viewing. The platform also placed Countdown at #9, with 77.2 million views from 23.6 million viewers, making it one of the widest-reaching shows of the month despite limited rewatching.
Netflix rounded out the rest of the list with a mix of new and familiar titles. Sitcom Mom debuted at #6 with 137.9 million views and an extremely high 19 views per viewer, showing strong binge behavior. Squid Game slipped one spot to #7 but still drew 125.2 million views across 22.7 million viewers. The Sandman entered at #8 with 108.3 million views, sustaining its reputation as a high-profile fantasy series. Finally, The Hunting Wives landed at #10 with 67.1 million views and steady reach across 14.5 million viewers.
