The third and final article in YouGov’s U.S. AI brand rankings series turns from Preference to experience: among people who have used leading AI tools and platforms, which brands leave their users most satisfied?

Preference shows which AI brands U.S. consumers say they like or prefer most. Satisfaction narrows the lens to people with direct experience of each brand - current and former users - and asks whether that experience was positive or negative.

That makes Satisfaction a different kind of signal. It can highlight brands whose users feel especially positive, even when those brands are not the biggest names in the overall Preference ranking.

Claude leads the Satisfaction ranking

Anthropic’s Claude tops the Satisfaction ranking among current and former AI tool users, with a score of 59.3. Apple Intelligence follows at 57.7, ahead of OpenAI’s ChatGPT at 53.5, Google’s Gemini at 51.3, and Perplexity AI at 49.0.

Chinese AI assistant and model platform DeepSeek ranks sixth with a net Satisfaction score of 47.0. Alexa (40.8), Copilot (40.6) and Siri (40.4) follow, with xAI's Grok rounding out the top 10 with a net Satisfaction score of 39.0.

Satisfaction vs. Preference: How the rankings compare

As seen in our AI brand Preference ranking, ChatGPT is the clear leader among U.S. AI users, but when the base shifts to people who have used each brand and how they feel about it, Claude achieves the highest net Satisfaction score.

Apple Intelligence and Perplexity AI both rank in the top five for Satisfaction, but placed in the bottom half of the table for overall brand Preference.

Which AI brands have the biggest Satisfaction difference between current and former users?

In a rapidly evolving tech space, customers often try new products as they reach mass market popularity – but they don't always stick around. Understanding the difference in Satisfaction between current and former customers can provide an indication of how people feel after they've moved on.

Among current users, Satisfaction is high across the brands shown. DeepSeek records the highest current-user score at 76.4, followed closely by Claude at 76.0, Apple Intelligence at 75.1, Perplexity AI at 73.4, and ChatGPT at 72.5.

The picture changes when we look at former users. Apple Intelligence leads among former users at 33.5, followed by Claude at 30.4, Perplexity AI at 27.8, and DeepSeek at 27.0. These scores are lower than current-user scores, but they still point to residual goodwill among some people who have used those brands before.

ChatGPT has the sharpest contrast in the chart: 72.5 among current users versus -2.8 among former users, a 75.3-point gap. Gemini also shows a wide current/former split, at 69.7 among current users and 10.7 among former users.

For AI brands, that gap can matter. Current-user Satisfaction points to the experience people are having now; former-user Satisfaction can show whether a brand leaves users with a positive impression after they move on - or whether it creates a harder group to win back.

Methodology

This article draws on YouGov BrandIndex data collected from February 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026.

YouGov BrandIndex tracks 18 AI brands in the U.S. For this ranking, Canva Magic Studio, DALL·E, Midjourney, DeepMind, and LLaMA were excluded from the published tables because the analysis focuses on consumer-facing, general-purpose AI tools and platforms. Notion AI and Mistral were omitted from the Satisfaction charts due to low sample size.

Satisfaction is based on respondents being asked which AI tools they are a satisfied or dissatisfied user of. The Satisfaction score is a net score: the share who say they are satisfied minus the share who say they are dissatisfied.

The first chart is based on current and former AI tool users. The second chart compares Satisfaction among current AI tool users and former AI tool users. Sample sizes are rounded down in the chart footnotes.
