Cycling safety campaigners have called for Brits to be taught a new way of opening the door from inside the car, which could reduce the number of cyclists being hit by opening car doors. Called the "Dutch reach", it involves opening the car door with the arm furthest away from the door, which pivots your body in your seat and allows you to see if a cyclist is coming up behind the car.
