From June 26 to July 25, 2025, the three brands with the greatest gains in Ad Awareness among Canadians adults were Amazon, Paypal and Amazon Music. Ad Awareness reflects the share of people who say they’ve seen an ad for a brand in the past two weeks.

Amazon saw the biggest rise in Ad Awareness, increasing from 29.3% to 37.2%, a 7.9-point gain. This surge likely coincides with Prime Day 2025, which was extended to a record four-day event (July 8–11). The promotion was heavily featured across Amazon.ca and supported by early deal previews, contests, and collaborations with Canadian figures. Highlights included exclusive Prime and Aeroplan member offers, a documentary tie-in, and nationwide coverage in both mainstream media and Amazon’s owned channels.

Amazon Music followed closely, with Ad Awareness increasing from 8.0% to 13.6%, a 5.6-point gain. The brand appeared to benefit from music-centered content tied to Prime Day, including the release of The Kids in the Crowd, a documentary about Canadian band Simple Plan. The documentary launched on Prime Video and was paired with exclusive tracks and playlist promotion through Amazon Music. The broader Prime Day push also included targeted audio advertising, which played a role in drawing traffic to Amazon Music’s platform.

PayPal rounds out the top three with a 6.5-point rise in Ad Awareness, going from a low of 11.3% to a peak of 17.8%. The launch of the company’s new PayPal Open platform for businesses in late June may have contributed to brand visibility. This new offering was positioned as a unified commerce solution for businesses of all sizes and received international media coverage.

Methodology

YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. Ad Awareness is based on asking: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” The data reflects a four-week moving average covering the period from June 26 to July 25, 2025, among Canadian adults aged 18+. The change is calculated as the difference between the lowest and highest scores within that window. Learn more about BrandIndex.
