December’s top advertisers in Canada are Coca-Cola, Ferrero and Ford, each exhibiting significant increases in Ad Awareness as tracked by YouGov BrandIndex. Ad Awareness measures the percentage of consumers who have seen an advertisement for a brand in the past two weeks.
Coca-Cola leads this month’s Ad Awareness growth in Canada, climbing from 32.5% on December 3 to 40.1% by December 25, an increase of 7.6 percentage points. The upswing aligns with two major initiatives launched during the month. On December 16, 2025, Coca-Cola announced that Canada will be one of the host stops on the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Trophy Tour. Around the same time, Coca-Cola launched the Coca-Cola FC Academy, a youth-focused career development program for aspiring sports marketers in Canada and the US, in partnership with The King’s Trust Canada. These initiatives aligned with Coca-Cola’s global “Refresh Your Holidays” campaign, featuring a new film and AI-powered festive visuals.
Ferrero follows with a 6.8 percentage point increase in Ad Awareness, rising from 12.3% on November 26 to 19.2% by December 18. The rise aligns with its global “Add Your Golden Touch” holiday campaign, which offered a nationwide digital and retail contest with prizes. As part of the campaign, select winners attended a Golden Dining Experience in Toronto on December 8 featuring a curated dinner and hands-on “Touch of Gold” workshop. The campaign also introduced Ferrero’s new brand platform Raise A Rocher™, with festive ads encouraging consumers to toast life’s special moments with its premium chocolates
Ford rounds out the top three with a 6.0 percentage point gain, increasing from 21.9% on November 29 to 27.8% by December 25. The growth aligns with the rollout of its global brand campaign, Ready Set Ford global marketing campaign, the brand’s first major global brand platform in over 15 years, launched in early October 2025. In Canada, Ford brought the campaign to life with “Driver Story”, which also included a feature with hockey legend Carey Price, celebrating the rugged reliability of Ford trucks in Canadian terrain.
Methodology: YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. Ad Awareness is based on asking: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” The data reflects a four-week moving average covering the period from November 26 to December 25, 2025, among Canadian adults aged 18+. The change is calculated as the difference between the lowest and highest scores within that window.
