The Supreme Court backed a Court of Appeal ruling allowing a Libyan man to sue ex‑Foreign Secretary Jack Straw over allegations of abduction and torture. Abdul-Hakim Belhaj alleges MI6, which Mr Straw was responsible for, helped the US kidnap him in Asia in 2004 to return him to the government of Muammar Gaddafi. Mr Straw rejects the claims. If it is proven that MI6 did take part in kidnapping Mr Belhaj, should Jack Straw - who as Foreign Secretary had MI6 under his direct authority - be held responsible?
