Police in Durham are preparing to launch an artificial intelligence system designed to help officers decide whether or not a suspect should be kept in custody. Testing of the system has showed forecasts that a subject was low risk turned out to be accurate 98% of the time, while forecasts that they were high risk were accurate 88% of the time. Would you support or oppose this technology being used for making decisions on whether people should be kept in custody or not?
