The second article in YouGov’s UK AI brand rankings looks at Satisfaction: which AI assistants current and former users rate most positively, and how current-users' satisfaction levels compare with former-users.
The AI landscape is rapidly evolving, with tools and assistants at varying stages of mass market adoption. While AI tool preference provides a valuable view of which tools consumers are gravitating towards most, satisfaction reveals whether people who have experience with a brand say they are satisfied or dissatisfied.
Satisfaction rankings provide a different kind of signal for brand analysts – especially in a market with a range of entrants at different stages of adoption. It can highlight brands whose users feel especially positive, even when those brands are not the biggest names in terms of awareness. Claude leads AI assistant Satisfaction
Looking at the top ten AI assistants based on Satisfaction among current and former users, Anthropic’s Claude tops the list with a net score of 56.2. Gemini ranks second at 46.5, narrowly ahead of ChatGPT at 46.0.
Perplexity AI follows at 43.7, while Alexa rounds out the top five with a score of 42.6. Copilot ranks sixth at 37.2, ahead of DeepSeek at 35.1 and Apple Intelligence at 32.4.
The lower end of the top 10 includes Grok at 24.6 and Siri at 23.7 – potentially highlighting some of the user challenges that come with voice recognition software.
Satisfaction vs. Preference: How the rankings compare
As seen in our AI brand Preference ranking, ChatGPT is the clear leader among UK AI users, but when the base shifts to people who have used each brand, Claude achieves the highest net Satisfaction score. Based on Preference among all AI users, Claude ranks in fifth place.
Perplexity AI also shows positive Satisfaction signal compared to the Preference tables. The founder-led AI brand ranks in the top five for Satisfaction but placed in the bottom half of the table for overall brand Preference.
Which AI brands have the biggest Satisfaction difference between current and former users?
In a rapidly evolving tech space, customers often try new products as they reach mass market popularity -– but they don't always stick around. Understanding the difference in Satisfaction between current and former customers can provide an indication of how people feel after they've moved on.
DeepSeek has the highest current-user Satisfaction score, at 77.2, followed by Claude at 74.5 and Perplexity AI at 70.5. ChatGPT also scores strongly among current users at 66.6, while Gemini records 64.2.
As you may expect, former-user Satisfaction is much lower. Claude has the highest former-user score among the brands shown, at 21.8, followed by Perplexity AI at 18.7, and Apple Intelligence at 18.1. ChatGPT’s former-user score is 2.9, while Grok’s is -4.7.
The widest current-versus-former gaps appear for ChatGPT, DeepSeek and Grok. ChatGPT is 63.7 points higher among current users than former users; DeepSeek is 62.5 points higher, and Grok is 62.4 points higher. Apple Intelligence has the narrowest gap in the chart, at 30.8 points.
These rankings show why one brand-health metric is rarely enough. Claude leads the overall Satisfaction ranking, DeepSeek leads among current users, and ChatGPT shows one of the largest current-versus-former gaps. Insights across a range of metrics provide true insight into the overall health of a brand, while one metric can only shine a light on one area of a brand’s performance in the marketplace.

Methodology
The Satisfaction analysis draws on YouGov BrandIndex data collected from March 1, 2026 to July 31, 2026. The overall Satisfaction ranking covers current and former users of each brand, with a minimum chart base of n> 380.
Customer Satisfaction is a net score based on whether current and former users say they are satisfied or dissatisfied users of each AI tool. Scores are shown to one decimal place and are not percentages.
The current-versus-former-user analysis uses the same period. Minimum chart bases are n> 140 for current users of each brand and n> 190 for former users of each brand.
Mistral and Notion AI are omitted from the Satisfaction assets because of low sample size. Disclaimer: The data analysis in this article was created with the assistance of AI.
