Irene Clennell, a Singapore citizen married to a British man, has been deported to Singapore. Mr & Mrs Clennell have two children and a grandchild. Mr Clennell cannot currently work due to ill‑health and she was his main carer.
They married in 1990 and Mrs Clennell was given permission to remain in Britain. In 1992 she and her husband moved to Singapore and she lost her right to residency in Britain. Her husband and children returned to Britain in 1998, while she stayed in Singapore to look after her ill parents.
Mrs Clennell returned to Britain from 2003 to 2005, but was denied permission to remain permanently. She returned to Britain again in 2013 under a visitor visa, but had her applications to remain refused.
