Our news tracker asks the public to tell us, in their own words, which one news story they had heard most about in recent days. The results are then categorised by our AI topic model into the categories below.
Over the last week, the news stories most noticed by the public include the funding controversy surrounding Reform UK and Nigel Farage, which was the most memorable headline for 14% of Britons. Our poll, conducted on 13-14 September, also finds that the public's attention was grabbed by the anti-immigration protests in Dover / Portsmouth (top story for 9%), the 25th anniversary of 9/11 (9%), and other stories about immigration to the UK (7%).
