YouGov’s AI-powered news tracker series shows which single story Britons heard the most about
Our news tracker asks the public to tell us, in their own words, which one news story they had heard most about in recent days. The results are then categorised by our AI topic model into the categories below.
Over the last week, the news stories most noticed by the public include stories about the 2026 budget, various aspects of which formed the most memorable news story for 38% of Britons. Our poll, conducted on 1st - 2nd November, also finds that the public's attention was grabbed by the headlines surrounding the protests / rioting in France (top story for 7%), and the Government's advice on emergency preparedness (4%).
