YouGov’s AI-powered news tracker series shows which single story Britons heard the most about
Our news tracker asks the public to tell us, in their own words, which one news story they had heard most about in recent days. The results are then categorised by our AI topic model into the categories below.
This past week, the news stories most noticed by the public include storms / bad weather, which formed the most memorable news story for 23% of Britons. Our poll, conducted on 25th-26th October, also finds that the public's attention was grabbed by the headlines surrounding the protests / rioting in France (top story for 16%), the government's advice on emergency preparedness (7%), and other stories surrounding the 2026 budget (5%).
