YouGov’s AI-powered news tracker series shows which single story Britons heard the most about

Our news tracker asks the public to tell us, in their own words, which one news story they had heard most about in recent days. The results are then categorised by our AI topic model into the categories below.

This last week, the news stories most noticed by the public include the protests/ rioting in France, which formed the most memorable news story for 19% of Britons. Our poll, conducted on 18th-19th October, also finds that the public's attention was grabbed by the headlines surrounding the US' deals with Russia / withholding support from Ukraine (top story for 10%), the fatal tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park (9%), and other stories about Donald Trump (6%).
