Key takeaways
- Net favourability towards Keir Starmer (-48), Kemi Badenoch (-25) and Nigel Farage (-39) is largely unchanged since last month
- Ed Davey’s March net favourability score of -14 is his lowest since October 2024
- 36% of Britons now see Zack Polanski unfavourably, up six points since last month, while the number seeing the Green leader favourably (22%) has not changed
- Shabana Mahmood’s net rating has fallen six points to -30, while opinion towards other cabinet ministers has not moved significantly
Keir Starmer favourability, March 2026
After an improvement last month, Keir Starmer’s favourability ratings have stabilised, with the 22% of Britons with a positive opinion of the prime minister and the 70% with an unfavourable view both within the margin of error of February’s figures.
This leaves the Labour leader with a net favourability score in March of -48.
Nigel Farage favourability, March 2026
Nigel Farage’s ratings are also largely unchanged compared to last month’s figures, with 27% of Britons continuing to see the Reform UK leader favourably, while around two thirds (66%) have a negative opinion of him.
Nonetheless, Farage’s March net score of -39 is the lowest recorded by our tracker since this time last year, having been between -27 and -31 between May and August last year.
This downward trend in opinion towards the Reform UK leader is concentrated among 2024 Conservative voters. Last August, they saw Farage favourably by a margin of 54% to 39%. Today, these proportions are largely reversed, with most Conservatives (53%) seeing him in a negative light and just 42% seeing him positively.
Kemi Badenoch favourability, March 2026
As with Starmer and Farage’s scores, Kemi Badenoch’s March favourability ratings show no significant month-on-month change. Just over a quarter of Britons (27%) see the Conservative leader favourably, compared to 52% holding a negative opinion of her, giving Badenoch a net rating of -25.
Ed Davey favourability, March 2026
As Ed Davey faces growing discontent within the Lib Dems, his net favourability rating has fallen to -14, the lowest recorded by our favourability tracker since October 2024. Just a quarter of Britons (24%) have a favourable opinion of the Lib Dem leader, down three points since February, while 38% see him negatively.
Zack Polanski favourability, March 2026
Despite the Greens’ recent by-election win in Gorton and Denton, opinion towards Zack Polanski has become more negative in the last month. While the number of Britons seeing the Green leader in a positive light remains unchanged at 22%, the proportion seeing him unfavourably has risen six points to 36%, leaving Polanski with a net score of -14, his lowest to date.
This does, though, mean that the proportion of Britons with no opinion either way on the Green leader has fallen to 42% (down six points), suggesting Polanski now has a similar level of public recognition to Ed Davey (38% don’t know).
Political favourability ratings, March 2026
Opinion towards senior cabinet ministers have not significantly changed, with the latest net ratings for Rachel Reeves (-51), David Lammy (-38), Wes Streeting (-33), Yvette Cooper (-26) and John Healey (-11) all within the margins of error of the previous time they were polled.
An exception is Shabana Mahmood, whose net favourability score has fallen six points to -30 over the last month, with 41% of Britons now seeing the home secretary unfavourably.
Fresh from being elected as Your Party’s parliamentary leader at the start of the month, Jeremy Corbyn is viewed favourably by 24% of Britons, an increase of three points since last December, but unfavourably by 64%.
At the other end of the political spectrum, Rupert Lowe last month officially launched Restore Britain as a political party. One in seven Britons (14%) have a favourable opinion of Lowe, up five points since just after his suspension from Reform UK last March, with roughly twice as many (27%) seeing him unfavourably, up three points.
A majority of Reform UK’s 2024 voters (55%) see Lowe favourably, while just 13% see him in a negative light.
