Our news tracker asks the public to tell us, in their own words, which one news story they had heard most about in recent days. The results are then categorised by our AI topic model into the categories below.
This last week, the news stories most noticed by the public include the Book claims made by Earl Spencer, which was the most memorable headline for 20% of Britons. Our poll, conducted on 13-14 September, also finds that the public's attention was grabbed by the Ed Sheeran / Macklemore Palestine row (top story for 10%), the disappearance and death of Noah wood (9%), and other stories about the Ukraine War (5%).
