Coca-Cola leads YouGov’s Australia beverage Consideration ranking, while the generational view shows where audience patterns diverge.
Australia’s beverage market brings together familiar soft drinks, coffee brands, ready-to-drink iced tea, energy drinks, flavoured milk, bottled water and functional drinks. That breadth makes Consideration a useful way to see which names make it onto consumers’ purchase shortlist.
YouGov Australia’s most considered beverage brands are based on YouGov BrandIndex data collected from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026. The analysis looks at overall Consideration among Australian adults and compares the overall top 10 across Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X and Baby Boomers+.
This article covers:
- Top 10 beverage brands by Consideration among Australian adults
- How the overall top 10 performs among Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X and Baby Boomers+
- Methodology behind the rankings
Coca-Cola leads Australia’s beverage consideration ranking
Coca-Cola ranks first in the Australia beverage ranking, with 43.2% of Australian adults saying they would consider purchasing the brand. Pepsi follows in second place at 29.5%.
The next two brands are almost level. Schweppes places third and Nescafe fourth, with both brands at 28.1% after rounding. Lipton rounds out the top five at 24.6%.
The rest of the top 10 shows how broad the beverage universe is. Bundaberg ranks sixth at 22.6%, just ahead of Sprite at 22.3%. Moccona follows at 17.8%, Solo ranks ninth at 16.0%, and Red Bull completes the top 10 at 14.9%.
Consideration identifies the brands Australians would include in their purchase shortlist, making it a useful read on the competitive set consumers have in mind before they buy.
Generation changes the shape of the top 10
The generational breakdown reveals some clear differences in which beverage brands Australians would consider. Coca-Cola leads among Gen Z, Millennials and Gen X, showing particularly strong results with Milennials (53.1%). Schweppes ranks highest among Baby Boomers+.
Pepsi also performs more strongly among younger audiences than older ones, reaching 35.8% among Gen Z and 37.4% among Millennials, compared with 27.2% among Gen X and 19.9% among Baby Boomers+.
Sprite and Red Bull show particularly clear youth skews. Sprite records 33.4% Consideration among Gen Z and 28.5% among Millennials, falling to 20.6% among Gen X and 11.0% among Baby Boomers+. Red Bull is considered by 26.8% of Gen Z and 24.8% of Millennials, but only 2.3% of Baby Boomers+.
Other brands show different Consideration patterns across generations. Schweppes scores 22.1% among Gen Z but rises to 30.9% among Gen X and 32.5% among Baby Boomers+. Bundaberg increases from 15.9% among Gen Z to 29.0% among Baby Boomers+, while Moccona rises from 8.9% to 25.2%.
Nescafe is steadier across generations, ranging from 25.6% among Gen Z to 29.8% among Millennials and 29.1% among Baby Boomers+. That contrast with Moccona shows how even brands within the same broad drink type can have different generational profiles.
