YouGov European tracker series looks at the popularity of the leaders of Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and Spain

Keir Starmer – United Kingdom

April’s tracker poll found that 24% of Britons had a favourable opinion of Keir Starmer and 68% had an unfavourable opinion.

This represents a notable increase in popularity since March’s survey, with the number of Britons holding a favourable view up by four points and the number with an unfavourable view down by five points.

Emmanuel Macron – France

April’s tracker poll found that 23% of French people had a favourable opinion of Emmanuel Macron and 72% had an unfavourable opinion.

This represents a slight rise in popularity since March’s survey, with the number of French people holding a favourable view up by four points and the number with an unfavourable view down by four points.

Friedrich Merz – Germany

April’s tracker poll found that 22% of Germans had a favourable opinion of Friedrich Merz and 74% had an unfavourable opinion.

This represents a notable decrease in popularity since March’s survey, with the number of Germans holding a favourable view down by four points and the number with an unfavourable view up by five points.

Giorgia Meloni – Italy

April’s tracker poll found that 35% of Italians had a favourable opinion of Giorgia Meloni and 57% had an unfavourable opinion.

These scores are within the margin of error of those for March’s survey, and therefore represent little change.

Pedro Sánchez – Spain

April’s tracker poll found that 38% of Spaniards had a favourable opinion of Pedro Sánchez and 59% had an unfavourable opinion.

These scores are within the margin of error of those for March’s survey, and therefore represent little change.

Mette Frederiksen – Denmark

April’s tracker poll found that 47% of Danes had a favourable opinion of Mette Frederiksen and 49% had an unfavourable opinion.

This represents a slight increase in popularity since March’s survey, with the number of Danes holding a favourable view up by four points and the number with an unfavourable view down by four points.
